KINGS OF PERSIS. Autophradates (Vadfradad) I, early 2nd century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 34 mm, 16.56 g, 11 h), Istakhr (Persepolis). Head of Vadfradad I to right, wearing kyrbasia, diadem and earring. Rev. Fire-temple of Ahura-Mazda; above, half-figure of Ahura-Mazda to left; to left, King standing right, his hands raised in adoration; to right, standard; between king and altar, bow. Alram 538. Klose & Müseler 2/17. Sunrise 568 var. (no bow). Van't Haaff 533/535/538. Traces of overstriking and with some minor horn silver, otherwise, very fine.
